భవకేళీ :- Prosperously enjoying life ( కేళీ = Sport,Play or Dancing)

మదిరా :- A spirituous or fermented liquor

మదంబున :- Dizzy, Frivolous or Vertiginous

పాపాత్ముడై :- Deviating from what is considered moral, right, proper or good. In this context it's a perverted sense of loyalty towards the six enemies referred as అరిషడ్వార్గములు AriShadVargamulu = Kama (desire), Krodha (anger), Lobha (greed), Moha (delusion), Mada (pride), Matsarya (envy)]

నన్ను :- Here it's written in second person form, referring to Lord Sri Kalahastiwara himself, to whom the poet is speaking to.

వివేకింప డటంచు :- Citing as inconsiderate and discourteous

నరకార్ణోరాశి :- (నరకము = Infernal region or hell ; అర్ణవము = arṇavamu. n. The sea or ocean). Here, it's an infernal ocean of life and death.

బాలుండొకచోట :- [ బాలుడు = Beloved child/lad ; ఒక = A, one ; చోటు = situation or a place ] ; Referring to a beloved son in a situation

నాటతమితోడన్‌ :- [ ఆట = Play, pastime, playfulness ] ; While playing

నూతఁ గూలంగఁ :- [ నూతి / నుయ్యి = a pit or hole sunk into the earth to reach a supply of water; గూలంగఁ = Fall ] To fall in a hole/well.

దండ్రి విచారింపక యుండునా? :- [ దండ్రి = Father ; విచారింపక యుండునా? :- [ విచారము = anxiety, agony, concern ; ఉండడము = stay ]. Rhetorically questioning (the Lord), if a father would be unconcerned ( seeing his son in trouble )

కటకటా :- To gnash or grind (one's teeth) together, typically as a sign of being annoyed, angry and being helpless.

Punishing me as an intoxicated whimsical sinner

who is inconsiderate and discourteous to You,

You have thrown me into an ocean of inferno.

Wouldn't a father be in an anguish

watching his playful child falling into a well

Alas a forlorn hope! Sri Kalahastiswara!

Mahakavi Dhoorjati in this poem, rhetorically questions the Sarvagya ( The one who knows everything ), if any father would be oblivious seeing his child in pain and distress and not come to rescue?

Confiding his misdeeds to Haraya ( The Lord who dissolves all bondages and sins ) the poet is remorseful and pleads the Varada (The grantor of boons) to come to rescue and shower His benevolence and grace.

Just like a father who is always watchful of his playful child, and in turn, the child who trusts the father to protect at all times, let's all put our faith in Rudraya ( The One Who gets sad by the pain of devotees ), for under his watchful eyes we are always protected.
