గానింబట్టక సంతతంబు మదివేడ్కన్గొల్తు నంతస్సప

త్నానీకంబున కొప్పగింపకుము నన్నాపాటియే చాలుఁదే 
TnaNeekambuNa Kappagimpakumu NannuAapatiYe Chaalundey 

జీనొల్లం గరినొల్ల నొల్లసిరులన్‌ శ్రీకాళహస్తీశ్వరా!

నీనా = Between you and me


సందోడబాటు = Accord, Pact, Agreement


వినుమా = Listen (to my suggestion)


నీచేత జీతంబు = Salary or Remuneration from you


నేఁగానిం ; నే = I, యేగాని = Yegaani, Kaani (1/4), also Dammidi is (1/12) vintage currency metric, so నేఁగానిం = Any small fraction of money


బట్టక = To take, to expect


సంతతంబు = Always


మది = Heartfelt, Ardent, Devout


వేడ్కన్గొల్తు = Altruistic service


అంతస్సపత్నానీకంబు AntaSapatnaNikambu; అంత = Inside my heart and soul, that are invisible  స్సపత్నానీకంబు = Internal tenets, Things that control us and our actions, here referred as 6 invisible enemies (అరి) inside us [అరిషడ్వార్గములు 6 Enemies AriShadVargamulu = Kama (desire), Krodha (anger), Lobha (greed), Moha (delusion), Mada (pride), Matsarya (envy)]


అప్పగింపకుము = Don't offer me to them (as a sacrifice)


నన్నాపాటియే చాలు This much is enough to me, this is all I am asking 

నొల్ల = I don't seek

జీ = Horses (దే జీనొల్లం = Don't seek any horses)

గరి = Elephants (గరినొల్ల = Don't seek elephants)

సిరులన్‌ = Wealth (నొల్లసిరులన్‌ = Don't seek wealth)
Concede to my entente between you and me!

Not seeking infinitesimal renumeration

I offer my altruistic service and ardent devotion to you

it's not Horses, Elephants or Wealth I seek

in return, for instead, 

renunciate me 

from my internal tenets

this is all I desire Sri Kalahastiswara!

Having served frail kings and royals all throughout his life, Mahakavi Dhoorjati, in this satakam, continues to lament at his legacy and the extravagant life he lived, which made him lose the knowledge of his true being.

Now, realizing how wasteful was his life serving kings for material wealth and luxuries, the poet consciously attempts to redeem his remaining life by making a pact with Varada, the grantor of boons.

The rest of his life he would ardently serve the Mahamrityunjaya, the great victor of death, in return does not ask any material renumeration but requests Bholenath, the kind-hearted Lord to renunciate from his internal vices.
